Disciplined - Deuteronomy 8:5

"Know then in your heart that, as a man disciplines his son, the Lord your God disciplines you."

We live in a culture focused on instant gratification and self-worship, so it sometimes feels impossible to have a proper perspective on discipline. But when we look at Jesus, this spiritually numbing facade starts to crack. We start to realize that His death on the cross reached far beyond discipline; this was our punishment-our rightful reward for our rebellion against a holy God. And he took it for us.

Not only that, He still takes the time to correct us when we stray His discipline motivated bot out of spitefulness or revenge but out of His burning desire to make straight our paths toward heaven. He still makes every effort to lead us into His presence. That is the kind of love only a perfect Father can show His sons.
